KATHMANDU: Nepal has crashed out from the group round of the ongoing U-18 SAFF Championship.

Nepal’s dream to qualify for the semifinals shattered after Bhutan and the Maldives played a goalless draw on Tuesday.

Nepal might have qualified for the semifinals only if Bhutan had thrashed the Maldives with a goal difference of more than four goals.

Bhutan has entered the semifinals of the regional tournament garnering four points as a Group ‘A’ winner while the Maldives entered the semifinals as a runner-up getting two points.

In the first match, Nepal played a 1-1 draw against the Maldives. Nepal was thrashed by Bhutan 3-0 in the second match.
