DELHI: A strong 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Pakistan-India border region at about 4.31 pm, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

The earthquake was at a depth of 40 km.  The tremors were felt in north India and Pakistan with people rushing out of their homes in the neighboring country and in north India including Punjab and Haryana, Seismology Department officials said. the neighboring country.

Reports of tremors are coming from New Delhi, Chandigarh, Kashmir as well as several towns in Pakistan, including Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtun region.
