SANKHUWASABHA: As many as 28 families have been trapped due to landslides  in Makalu Rural Municipality in the district.

The villagers have been trapped by the landslide sine the last six days. Most of the places have been hit by the landslides, forcing them to sleep under the open sky. They have not been able to reach nearby markets Num and Hedanna.

Children have not been able to go to school.  It takes several days to clear the debris brought down by landslides on the trail, said Shailendra Rai, a local.

Chief District Officer Jivan Prasad Dualal said preparations are underway to supply relief materials to the incident site in a helicopter.
