President Bhandari leaving for China today

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is embarking on a nine-day state visit to China today.
During her China visit, President will render efforts to bring grant for railway to tunnel projects for Nepal.

Nepal has prepared a list of nine agendas related to the China-introduced Belt and Road Initiatives, including inter-country transmission line from Lhasa to Kathmandu and tunnel connection from Kathmandu to Naubise.

Other proposals include opening opening Hilsa checkpoint in Humla, Kerala checkpoint in Mustang, building road from Galchhi to Kerung among others.

Bhandari will hold  a bilateral meeting with her Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping and sign a trade and transit treaty  between the two countries. This treaty will pave the way for Nepal to use four sea ports and two dry ports of China.
