‘Iraqi security forces kill 3 protesters in Baghdad’



BAGDAD: Three were killed and 27 others wounded amid continued anti-government protests in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, said security and medical sources.

Friday’s casualties took place during fierce clashes between demonstrators and security forces near a strategic bridge in central Baghdad that leads to the city’s heavily fortified Green Zone, the seat of Iraq’s government.

Two people died from bullet wounds, according to the sources, while the third was hit by a tear gas canister in the head.
