Unknown disease claims 21 goats in Kanchanpur



KANCHANPUR: As many as 21 goats have died due to an unknown disease in Shuklafanta Municipality in Kanchanpur district.

Nine goats belonging to Prem Dhanuk, a local, died on Monday alone. The goats died after eating grass locally called ‘Mathe’.

The goat keepers have been advised not to eat the meat of dead goats but bury them.

According to locals, goats tremble, cry and secrete saliva before they die. A team of veterinarians who were deployed in the incident site have collected a sample of dead goats.
