ISSR saddened by Dahal’s demise

KATHMANDU: The Institute for Strategic and Socio-Economic Research (ISSR) held a condolence meet to mourn the demise of its Founding Director, Dr. Madan Dahal.

The meet concluded that the country has faced an irreparable loss by the demise of a renowned economist and professor, Dr. Dahal.

Speaking at the condolence meet, ISSR Chairman Prof. Dr. Bishwambher Pyakuryal expressed sadness and said that his loss is irreplaceable. He remembered late Dahal’s contribution in the field of economics.

ISSR Acting Chairman, Govinda Nepal expressed his grief over losing a renowned economist and remembered Dahal as a good friend of the organization.

Likewise, ISSR Executive Director, Naresh Shrestha expressed sadness over losing a friendly person. He remembered Dahal’s contribution while wishing for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Similarly, ISSR Executive Director, Rabindra Pandey expressed grief over the demise of Dahal and wished for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Dahal breathed his last while undergoing treatment for stomach related ailments at Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) today. He was 72.

Dahal had played a noteworthy role in the economic development of the country. Late Dahal had a good understating of public finance and taxation. The Ministry of Finance used to seek regular suggestions from him on economic development. He had also worked as an international consultant for the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

ISSR office-bearers, board members and participants wished for eternal peace of the departed soul and extended condolence to the breavered family.

Also the chairman of Operating Committee of Mega Bank, Dahal was the founding director at Institute for Strategic and Socio-Economic Research (ISSR).

Of late, Dahal was active on social media and had been expressing his views on economic development of the country, steps for economic development and roles for improvements in tax system.
