NC fails to narrow down differences today as well

KATHMANDU: Attempts to narrow down the intra-party differences in the Nepali Congress (NC) could not materialize as two factions did not budge an inch from their respective positions.

A meeting of the party leaders held at NC Vice President Prakash Man Singh’s residence in Chaksibari failed to make any headway owing to the rigid stance of both the factions.

While Bimalendra Nidhi represented the establishment faction led by party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, central member Dilendra Prasad Badu and his team participated on behalf of the disgruntled faction led by party senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel.

Badu, meanwhile, said that the leaders from both sides presented flexibility to reach consensus on thorny issues, including finalizing the date for the 14th national convention, the formation of Nepal Students’ Union, among others.
