Nepal to hold Tourism Investment Summit in February

KATHMANDU: The Visit Nepal 2020 Secretariat will organize Tourism Investment Summit in February, 2020 with an objective to promote Nepal’s tourism.

The date for the event is, however, not decided. According to the Visit Nepal 2020’s national program coordinator Suraj Vaidya, the event will see on-the-spot agreement signing between the two parties for the investment in the tourism sector of Nepal.

“So far the entrepreneurs from the Middle East have expressed willingness for the investment in Nepal,” Vaidya said.

The event will be held in association with the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank and International Finance Corporation (IFC). Vaidya claimed that this summit will be different from the one held so far in Nepal. “There will be agreement signing ceremony too besides exploring the prospect of tourism and deliberating on such issues, “he said.

Entrepreneurs from India, China, Europe and the Middle East will participate besides those from the host countries. Discussion among the Chief Ministers from seven provinces and private sectors would be held during the event.

The event will also focus on promotional activities aimed at developing Province no 2 as a spiritual tourist destination, added Vaidya.

Province no 2 houses Janaki Mandir, the birthplace of one of the 24 Jain Gurus. Activities aimed at reforming Tribhuvan International Airport will be undertaken so as to set an example for a reception for guests and visitors.
