Four held with 100 kg Buddhist prayer beads

BHAKTAPUR: Police arrested four people including driver with illegal Buddhist prayers beads after intercepting a taxi, Ba 2 Ja 5223, in Suryabinayak Municipality-8.

The arrested are Shukra Lama, 40, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7, Basundhara, Roshan Karki of Dolakha, currently staying in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Basundhara, Rupesh Lama, 25, of Ramechhap, currently staying in Basundhara, Kathmandu and taxi driver Binod Majhi of Sindhuli, currently staying in Kapan, Kathmandu,.

A team of police deployed from Metropolitan Police Office, Jagati intercepted the taxi heading to  Kathmandu from Banepa  during a security check and seized seven sacks of Buddhist prayer beads.

Police said they are investigating the case.
