KATHMANDU: Suspended lawmaker Resham Chaudhary has been unchained following an order from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Saturday.

Chaudhary was chained to the hospital bed while receiving treatment at the Trauma Center of Bir Hospital.

After pictures of the lawmaker chained as he receives treatment spread like wildfire on social media, the prime minister asked the concerned to unchain him and to take action against those ordering him to be chained.

The main convict of the Kailali carnage was admitted to the hospital on Friday following ailments related to lungs and bone marrow.

The Kailali District Court on March 6 had handed down a life sentence to 11 people including Chaudhary in connection with the 2015 Tikapur incident in which nine people were killed.
