Police arrest 20 ATM hackers in 3 yrs

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 24 individuals including 18 foreigners on the charge of stealing money by hacking ATM PIN number in the last three years.

Among those arrested include four Romanians, four Turks, four Bulgarians, four Maldivians, two Indians and six Nepalis.

In the last three years, police have seized Rs 9,562,000, USD 75, 235, Euro 73,875, 33 Indonesian currencies and 470 Philippine currencies along with 69 fake ATM cards from ATM hackers.

Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on Thursday arrested Raj Kumar Pandey of Bara for stealing Rs 2 million from different ATM booths in cahoots with Romanian hackers.
