DAMASCUS: The United States has come up with the signs of using chemical weapons by the Syrian government led by President Bashar Hafez al-Assad.

Assad assumed the office of President of Syria since July 17, 2000, and imposed his dictatorial regime over Syrians only to emerge the most powerful ruler denying any prospects of further democratic reforms within the country.

Mass protests in Syria erupted on 26 January 2011 calling for political reforms and civil rights for ordinary citizens which were denied to them since 1963 when state emergency was clamped and continued without break.

Morgan Ortagus, spokeswoman of US State Department on May 19 said in a statement that Assad government has not let up its design of further using the chemical weapons on the communities of northwest Syria.

Allegations of using chemical weapons, including an alleged chlorine attack on May 19 in northwest Syria by the current Assad regime is gaining ground.

Morgan continued, “Washington and its allies would respond quickly and appropriately if this were proven.” It is not the first time that Syria has been accused of using chemical weapons against its own citizens.

US President Donald Trump had already warned Bashar Assad, the President of Syria in September 1918 against the use of chemical weapons on the Idlib de-escalation zone.

A chemical weapon is a chemical used in weapon delivery systems such as bombs or artillery shell to cause mass death by spreading harmful toxic substances in and around the targeted area.

Syria has been bombed twice by the Trump administration in April 2017 and April 2018 on the alleged use of chemical weapons. Another attack by the USA on Syria is imminent if allegations turn out to be true.
