KATHMANDU: China has been given three plots in the Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. But, other Buddhists countries like Japan, Thailand, Myanmar and Sri Lanka have been given merely one plot.

According to the source, China has grabbed a disproportionate amount of land in Lumbini.

China is not even a Buddhists country and has been targeting its Buddhists population in Tibet and should therefore not be given unfettered access in Buddhist pilgrimage sites, experts opined.

According to them, China has been using its access in Lumbini for keeping an eye on Tibetan refugees and is taking advantage of Nepal’s friendly gesture.
