Newly appointed six ministers, three state ministers sworn in

KATHMANDU: The newly appointed six ministers and three state ministers have been sworn in amid a special function held at Sheetal Niwas on Thursday.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered oath of office and secrecy to them.

Those sworn in as ministers are Hridayesh Tripathi, Basanta Nembang, Parbat Gurung, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Lekhraj Bhatta and Rameswor Raya Yadav while Moti Dugar, Nawaraj Rawat and Rambir Manandhar took oath of office and secrecy as state ministers.

Basanta Nembang has been sworn in as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport; and Hridayesh Tripathi as Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration.

Likewise, Moti Dugar took the oath of office and secrecy as the Minister of State for Industry and Commerce  while Parbat Gurung has been sworn in as the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens.

Ghanashyam Bhusal has been sworn in as the Minister for Agricultural and Livestock Development.

Similarly, Lekhraj Bhatta has been sworn in as the Minister for  Industry, and Rameswor Raya Yadav as the Minister for Labor.

Nawaraj Rawat and Rambir Manandhar took the oath of office and secrecy as the Minister of State for Health and Population and the Minister of State for Urban Development, respectively. Prime Minister KP Oli reshuffled his cabinet by inducting new faces with the aim of garnering wider support from the public.

The reshuffle, which followed a series of meetings with Nepal Communist Party (NCP) senior leaders, including party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal this week, has seen nine new ministers being introduced.

PM Oli has removed cabinet ministers, including Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Raghubir Mahaseth; Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Lalbabu Pandit; Minister for Labor, Gokarna Bista; and Minister of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Tham Maya Thapa Magar.

Similarly, those removed are Minister for Agricultural and Livestock Development Chakrapani Khanal (Baldev), Minister of Sate for Agricultural and Livestock Development Ram Kumari Chaudhary and Minster of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Dhan Bahadur Budha.

Likewise, Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Upendra Yadav’s portfolio has been given to Bhanubhakta Dhakal, who was serving as the Law Minister. Yadav has been given the responsibility of Law Ministry.

The portfolios of Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokhrel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali, Energy Minister Barsa Man Pun, Communication Minister Gokul Baskota, Drinking Water Minister Bina Magar, Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, and Tourism Minister Yogesh Bhattarai and other ministers have remained unchanged.
