Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar arriving Nepal



KATHMANDU: External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar is arriving in Nepal to take part in the fifth meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission.

Minister Jaishankar will land at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 12 pm, said Indian Embassy in Nepal.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jaishankar will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at 2 pm before joining the Nepal-India Joint Commission meeting. The meeting will begin at 3 pm at Hotel Yak and Yeti.

He will also visit President Bidya Devi Bhandari at 10:30 am on Thursday.

The two-day meeting will focus on bilateral relations, trade and transit, economic cooperation, energy, water resources, culture and education, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Jaishankar is arriving for the first time in Nepal after being elected as the Minister for External Affairs of India under the Modi-led government for the second stint.
