Learning Chinese language a necessity: Mahara



KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, has said that Chinese interest to learn Nepali and vice versa helps to know each other and foster relations between the two countries.

Speaking at a program on the ‘2nd Belt and Road Nepal-China Educational Fair’ in Kathmandu today, he said the Belt and Road initiative launched by Chinese has created potential for cooperation among the countries on various sectors including energy, tourism and education.

Likewise, Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Khagaraj Baral, said performance of the Nepali students pursuing medical degrees in China have been affected due to lack of knowledge about the Chinese language

According to him, China is becoming one of the preferred destinations for Nepali students.
