Nepal road accident: 7 die on a daily basis

KATHMANDU: As many as 37 vehicular accidents take place across the country, killing seven people on a daily basis, according to the records maintained by the Nepal Police Headquarters.

In the fiscal year, 2075/76, a total of 13, 366 vehicular accidents took place in which 2,789 people were killed while 4,376 were critically injured.

Similarly, in the fiscal year 2074/75, a total of 10, 965 road accidents took place killing 2,789 people across the country and injuring 14,736.

Likewise, in the five months of the current fiscal year, 1,030 people were killed in the 7,505 road accidents, according to the records.
