KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and General Secretary Bishnu Paudel have held a meeting on the cabinet reshuffle at Baluwatar.  The leaders intensively discussed who is to be picked and removed from the cabinet, according to Baluwatar sources.

Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gokul Baskota hinted at the possibility of cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday saying that PM Oli has ‘something new to reveal’. The Prime Minister also had instructed ministers not to attend any public functions on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, sources have claimed that PM Oli is widely expected to retain his close allies.

It has been learned that PM Oli is likely to remove cabinet ministers, including Minister for Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Matrika Yadav, Minister for Agriculture, Chakrapani Khanal, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Tham Maya Thapa Magar, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Lalbabu Pandit, and State Ministers Dhan Bahadur Buda and Ram Kumari Chaudhary.

Once the names of the new ministers are finalized, Oli and Dahal will go to Sheetal Niwas to apprise of President Bidya Bhandari about the decision, a Baluwatar source said.

The decision will be officially endorsed by the secretariat meeting. The new ministers will be sworn in in the evening.
