One dead, five injured in Washington, D.C. shooting

WASHINGTON DC: One person died and five others injured in a shooting on the streets of Washington, D.C., police said.

Police have still not apprehended a suspect and do not know the motive for the shooting, according to Stuart Emerman, Metropolitan Police commander.

Of the five injured, two were critical and other injuries ranged from serious to minor. However, all were expected to survive their injuries, police said.

The gunfire erupted at the Columbia Heights neighborhood, merely two miles from the White House on Thursday night at about 10 p.m. (Agencies)
