Bihar’s drought-hit families get Rs 3,000 each



PATNA: The government of the Indian state of Bihar has provided an assistance of Rs 3,000 to each family in the state affected by drought-like conditions, Indian media reports have said.

In the first phase of its distribution, over IRs 38 crore was earmarked for disbursal among the 1,26,918 families of the state.

Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar began the process by clicking the mouse.

Some 796 Panchayats of the State have been declared drought-affected in 18 districts. (Agencies)
