Man dies as scooter hits parked tipper

KATHMANDU: A man was killed and another one injured when a scooter, Ba 92 Pa 6565, crashed into a parked tipper truck, Na 3 Kha 7561, in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-27 on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified scooter driver Sanjaya Thakuri, 35, of Budhanilkantha. Thakuri died at Nepal National Hospital in Kalanki, said police.

The injured identified as Bishal Luitel of Kalanki, who was a pillion passenger of the ill-fated scooter, is receiving treatment at the National Trauma Centre. The police have held the driver of the tipper truck.
