RANJHA: As many as 150 girl students of several schools in Bank have received a self-defense course to protect them from violence against women and girls. The training was provided by the National Sports Council under the President Sports Women Participation Enhancement Program.
The objective of training was to encourage girls to fight against violence against them and increase their interest in sports as well, the district committee said.
Kirti Tharu, a ninth grader at Nepalgunj-based Saraswoti Secondary School, said it gave a new experience to her and motivated her to take countermeasures which could be well applied during possible danger.
