JHAPA: Nepal’s first night knockout football tournament is commencing at the Bhadrapur Municipality-based Mechi Stadium in Jhapa from today.

The Eleven Shining Star is organizing the tournament. A total of eight district-based soccer teams including the host are competing for the title, club chair Dilip Bhuimali said.

The host and Kankai Football Club are meeting for the opening match today. It is estimated to cost Rs 1.5 million to organize the event and the winner will home with a cash prize of Rs 100 thousands while the first-runner up will be awarded Rs 50,000.
