Nepal’s Parliament will endorse MCC: Minister Baskota

KATHMANDU: The government has said that the Parliament will endorse the agreement related to the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Baskota said that MCC would be endorsed by the Parliament.

“It is assistance extended by the USA for the countries which have ensured democracy, good governance, transparency and human rights. It will be endorsed,” Minister Baskota said.

He, however, claimed that Nepal will not be involved in any military alliance.

“We will not be associated with any military alliance. Its Nepal’s foreign policy and no one need to be confused,” he said, adding that MCC is not the part of Indo-Pacific Strategy.
