TU holds 45th convocation (in pics)

KATHMANDU: A total of 10, 183 students participated in the 45th Convocation Ceremony on Thursday held at Pulchowk Engineering Campus.

According to Convocation Main Celebration Committee member-secretary Pashupati Adhikari, last year, 9,504 students had participated in the Convocation. Before the availability of an online form, this number would be in a range of around 7,000.


Students are required to meet certain criteria to be eligible for taking part in the Convocation. Those TU graduates acquiring the transcripts from June 15, 2018, and June 14, 2019, were eligible for attending the Convocation.

The TU charges Rs 2,200 per student for participating in the Convocation for Bachelor’s degree, Rs 2,700 for Master’s degree and M.Phil and Rs 3,200 for the Ph.D. degree.

The highest number (3703) of students are from the Faculty of Management followed by 2,091 from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.  Remaining others are from engineering, medical science, education faculty, agriculture, and forestry science.


Similarly, Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokharel handed 31 awards to students who secured the highest marks.
