KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli is likely to reshuffle the cabinet on Wednesday.

This becomes evident after Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gokul Baskota informed that PM Oli thanked his cabinet ministers during a meeting of the Council of Ministers held at 6 pm on Tuesday evening.

The reshuffle is followed by a series of meetings with Nepal Communist Party (NCP) senior leaders, including party co-chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal this week.

Minister Baskota hinted at the possibility of cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday saying that PM Oli has ‘something new to reveal’. The Prime Minister has also instructed ministers not to attend any public functions on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, sources have claimed that PM Oli is widely expected to retain his close allies.

It has been learned that PM Oli is likely to remove cabinet ministers, including Minister for Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Matrika Yadav, Minister for Agriculture, Chakrapani Khanal, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Tham Maya Thapa Magar, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Lalbabu Pandit, and State Ministers Dhan Bahadur Buda and Ram Kumari Chaudhary.
