EC reiterates call to comply with election code of conduct



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has reiterated its call on the political parties and the government to abide by the election code of conduct in view of the November 30 by-election.

Talking to journalists in Kathmandu today, Election Commissioner Ishwari Prasad Poudyal said that the EC was confident about implementing the election code of conduct, which has been in force since October 25.

The by-election for the House of Representatives; the State Assembly members and the local level representatives have been slated on November 30.

The candidates are currently busy in the election publicity campaign.

The EC has made the government and political parties to sign the commitment letter to make the by-poll free and impartial.
