JANAKPUR: A week after the Supreme Court cleared the construction of Ram Temple on the disputed site in Ayodhya, organizers have made a clarion call for an alliance between eligible bachelors in Uttar Pradesh and women in Nepal’s Janakpur.

As many as 108 men from Meerut, Saharanpur, Ayodhya, and Lucknow in UP, Indore, and Bhopal in MP and cities from Bihar have signed up for the event.

Organizers of Dharmyatra Mahasangh, a Vishwa Hindu Parishad body, said that the event is being billed as Shri Ram Janaki Vivah Baraat Yatra-Ayodhya to Shri Dham Janakpur. The marriage procession and subsequent ceremonies will be spread over 13 days, including tilokatsav and kanya puja, beginning from November 21 from Janki Ghat in Karsevakpuram in Ayodhya.

The procession will take place on December 4 in Gorakhpur, the bastion of chief minister Yogi Adityanath upon return from Nepal. The procession will have eight welcome points, where extravagant meals by devotees and enthusiasts will be served.

These are Ambedkarnagar, Mau and Azamgarh in UP and Buxar, Pataliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga and Motihari in Bihar.

The wedding will take place at Dashrath Mandir in Janakpur. “The person who watches this marriage immerses in the worship of God,” the event’s invitation says.

The invite also says the event will strengthen ties between Nepal and India, which are culturally one country yet separated by borders. “We should not see the event as a milestone after Ram Temple verdict or reinforcement of VHP’s efforts to build the temple. This happens every five years.

We will also organize a Dhanush Yagya. From saints to UP CM and PM Narendra Modi and Nepal’s kingdom, we have invited everyone,” said Rajendra Singh Pankaj, the organizer.
