Priyanka Gandhi briefly detained

LUCKNOW: A high voltage drama was witnessed in Mirzapur of Uttar Pradesh when Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi was detained on Friday, Indian media reports have said.

Priyanka was on her way to meet the kin of victims of the firing issue in Sonbhadra where the authorities had imposed Section 144.

Priyanka said she did not know the police were taking her. The police took her to a guest house. On Friday morning, Priyanka was sitting on a dharna against the Uttar Pradesh government after the authorities stopped her from visiting the violence-hit Sonbhadra in which 10 people were killed in a land dispute earlier this week.
