Govt inspects Kalimati, Balkhu vegetables, fruits markets

KATHMANDU: The government has monitored Kalimati Vegetable and Fruits Wholesale Market and  Balkhu Agriculture Vegetables Market after consumers complained that the price of vegetables and fruits has skyrocketed.

The monitoring was carried out by  a team deployed by the Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection Department on early Friday. According to Yogendra Gauchan, director general of the Department, two teams had been deployed in the wholesale markets.

Gauchan said the Department carried out this inspection after the consumers complained that the price of the fruits and vegetables at the wholesale markets skyrocketed.
