Nepal to observe UN Vesak Day next year, says PM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Saturday said Nepal would celebrate the United Nations Day of Vesak next year.

the PM shared it at a program organized at Anandakuti Vihar on the occasion of the 2563rd Birth Anniversary of Gautam Buddha.

On December 15, 1999, the UN General Assembly recognized and acknowledged the celebration of the Day of Vesak which includes the commemoration of three days, the birth of the Buddha, his attainment of enlightenment and his passing away.
