President appoints Thapaliya as CEC



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday appointed Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya as Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

The president made the appointment as per Article 245 (2) of the constitution, the Office of President said in a statement.

President Bhandari also appointed Prakash Kumar Dhungana, Susmalata Mathema, Kumar Regmi, Hari Prasad Phuyal and Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma as Justices at Supreme Court.

Likewise, President appointed Bishnu Maya Ojha as the member of Inclusive Commission as per Article 258 (2) of the constitution.
