Govt fails to resolve Baluwatar land issue

KATHMANDU: Land Reform Office in Dilli Bazaar has turned down to implement the cabinet’s decision to block 117 ropanis of encroached land of Baluwatar.

The Office rejected the cabinet’s decision saying that it could not find out record files and it was not clear which plots were to be blocked, a report in Kantipur daily said.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers on February 20 had directed the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation to block the land plots of Baluwatar registered in the name of powerful people in line with the recommendation of the former Secretary Sharada Prasad Dhital.
