DoT says current weather unfavorable for mountain activities

KATHMANDU: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has urged all expedition companies to suspend all mountaineering activities citing unfavorable weather conditions.

The DoT made the appeal owing to the continuous rainfall across the country.

It should be noted that the Metrological and Forecasting Division on Tuesday predicted that the rain will continue till at least Thursday.

The Division has also asked all concerned to take precautions while going for trekking or mountaineering.

Meanwhile, the DoT has also urged the expedition companies to ensure safe accommodation of their clients saying that the weather conditions are not favorable for mountaineering.
