Landslide obstructs Araniko Highway

BANEPA: A landslide triggered by incessant rainfall has obstructed the Araniko Highway in and around Panchkhal municipality, Chaunnakilo and Dolalghat.

District Police Office Kavre Chief Jayaraj Sapkota said that the landslide occurred near Bhumlu rural municipality-10, Dolalghat resulted in road erosion on Tuesday night putting the traffic operation out of gear.

He informed that the landslide has caused road erosion in several parts along the highway adding that vehicular movement has been brought to complete standstill.

Efforts are being made to clear the rubbles to ensure traffic operation, according to Guman Dhwoj Kunwar, Chairperson of Bhumlu rural municipality.
