India President meets singer Mangeshkar at her residence

MUMBAI: India’s President Ram Nath Kovind met legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar at her residence in Mumbai.

Mangeshkar said that she was deeply honored and humbled by President Kovind’s visit.

She also shared a candid photograph of herself chatting with the President on Twitter.

Lata Mangeshkar, who has recorded more than a thousand Hindi sings, has been one of the best popular playback singers in India.

She has been bestowed with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989 by the Government of India. Likewise, Mangeshkar has also been awarded the Bharat Ratna — India’s highest civilian honor. (Agencies)
