DAMAULI: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Pokhara’s team arrested Prakash Poudel, a computer operator at the Division Road Office at Damauli, and Sumit Shahi of Wild Strong Consultancy while taking bribe.

CIAA Pokhara’s Spokesperson Meghnath Rijal said that a team of the anti-graft body caught Poudel red-handed, taking Rs 175,000 as bribe from Shahi in the office.

Shahi worked as a middle man between the service seeker and computer operator Poudel, CIAA said. Poudel had demanded the kickback as the administrative expenses, promising to pass the bill for payment relating to the construction of Khatri Thati Road at Sundarbazar in Lamjung district. Further investigation into the case was underway.
