23 presumed dead in arson at Japan studio



TOKYO: At least 13 people have been confirmed dead and more than 10 others presumed dead in suspected arson at a popular animation production studio in Kyoto.

Kyoto fire department official Kazuhiro Hayashi says 36 others have been injured, some of them critically, AP reported.

White and black smoke billowed out of the windows of the building of Kyoto Animation, reports have said. The studio has been producing several popular series such as “Sound! Euphonium”, among others.
