Nepal’s dream to play U-19 WC shatters

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s dream to play U-19 world cup cricket has shattered after UAE defeated Oman.

UAE beat Oman by 10 wickets in the final match. UAE achieved the target of 106 runs set by Oman in 12.1 overs without losing any wickets.

Had Oman defeated UAE, Nepal would have climbed atop the points table of the ICC Asia U-19 World Cup Qualifier.

One of the six teams scoring the highest points would be allowed to play world cricket.

USE clinched a berth in the world cup cricket by winning all five games.

Nepal had faced a one-wicket defeat at the hand of Oman after the game was reduced to D/L method due to bad weather. The loss to Oman turned out to be unfortunate for Nepal.
