Bangladesh to host SAFF Championship in Sept 2020

KATHMANDU: Bangladesh will be hosting the next edition of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship will be held in September next year.

The decision was taken by the regional football governing body’s congress held in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

The congress, attended by SAFF president Kazi Salahuddin and general secretary Anwarul Haque Helal along with representatives of seven member countries, also decided to host the regional tournament on odd years after the next edition, according to a report in Bangladeshi media.

The last edition of the SAFF Championship was held in Bangladesh where the Maldives won the title, beating seven-time champions India in the final.
