India Home Minister vows to identify, deport illegal immigrants



NEW DELHI: India’s Home Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday that the government will identify illegal immigrants and deport them as per the international law.

Saying that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) was a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) election manifesto, Shah said it would be implemented in all parts of the country. He said this while responding to a question in the Rajya Sabha.

He said that the NRC is a part of the Assam Accord and that the government will identify illegal immigrants living in India and will deport them as per the international law. (Agencies)
