Floods damage two dozen roads in Mahottari

MAHOTTARI: Floods have damaged around two dozen road sections in Mahattati district in the past one week.

The District Administration Office, Mahottari said 24 road sections out of 42 road networks in the district have been damaged. The major road sections including postal highway, Jaleshwor-Samsi road, Jaleshwor-Janakpur road, and Jaleshwor-Matihani road have been damaged.

Mahottari Chief District Officer, Umesh Kumar Dhakal, informed that maintenance and repair of the obstructed road would be completed within a week.

Likewise, the construction of a bailey bridge, which was swept away by the flood, on Bhabsi rivulet at Bardibas has begun from Wednesday. Around 5,000 vehicles use the bridge on a daily basis.
