Normal life hit as mercury soars to 33 degree Celsius in capital



KATHMANDU: With monsoon getting delayed, the temperature in the country including the Kathmandu Valley has soared, hitting the normal life of the people.

Not only in the Tarai but also in the hilly area, the temperature has risen significantly. Schools have been closed in some places in the Tarai area due to searing heat.

The temperature on Friday hit the record high of this year, with 33.5 degree Celsius in Kathmandu.

On Saturday, the temperature was recorded 43 degree Celsius in Nepalgunj on Saturday.

However, it will not go higher than this due to the local and western winds getting active, said Meteorological Forecasting Division. Temperature  of Kathmandu today is around 30 degree Celsius.
