31 die as dust storm hits Indian states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh

NEW DELHI: At least 31 people have died due to rain accompanied with dust storm in the Indian states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh, Indian media reported.

Nine people in Gujarat were killed in accidents following thunderstorm and dust storm on Tuesday.

Districts such as Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Rajkot, Patan, Sabarkantha, Mehsana, and Anand were severely affected by the storm.

Crops were ruined due to heavy rain and storm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences in a tweet today.

Likewise, at least 10 people have reportedly died due to storm.

In Rajasthan, nine people have died and 20 have been injured. Likewise, four people have died in in Jhalawar. Around 800 electric poles and 70 transformers have been damaged, authorities said. (Agencies)
