KATHMANDU: The government has printed 900,000 smart licences over the last 40 months and distributed a total of 750,000 licenses. However, traffic police do not have even a single machine to read such cards.
Over the two card readers available, one is at the Nepal Police Headquarters while the other is at the Department of Transport Management, a report in Naya Patrika said.
Even though the Madras Security Printers has already made available 100 card readers they have been useless due to the lack of software.
