Mother and daughter found dead in Kirtipur



KATHMANDU: A mother and her daughter who went to bed by lighting a coal fire have been found dead in Kirtipur.

The deceased have been identified as Sharmila Ranjitkar, 36, and her two-month-old daughter, confirmed Metropolitan Police Range Circle, Kirtipur.

Sarmila, daughter and her husband Nawa Raj had gone to bed lighting the coal fire on Sunday evening. Nawa Raj had called the police when they did not wake up this morning.

A preliminary investigation shows that Sharmila and her daughter must have apparently died due to asphyxiation, said DSP Chhedilal Kamati.
