KATHMANDU: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Hridayash Tripathi has said that Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) should work to strengthen the federalism in the country.
Speaking in an event organized on the 25th establishment day of KMC here today, Minister Tripathi said that the KMC was also an eye witness of various political changes in the country therefore it should work setting examples.
Similarly, Minister of State for Urban Development Rambir Manandhar said that the KMC had notable roles in preserving the world and national heritages.
Mayor at the KMC Bidya Sundar Shakya vowed to meet the public aspirations and preserve the heritages. On the occasion journalists including RSS reporter Sharmila Pathak (Ishwar Raj Dhakal of Nepal Samacharpatra , Himal Lamsal of Nagrik Daily, Tirtha Basnet of Naya Patrika, Keshav Pandey of Rajdhani Daily, Rekha Shakya of Jhigu.Com, Nripendra Shresrtha of Lahana Wa Pau were feted by Good Governance Journalism Award.
Likewise, Newa Online and Gorakhapatra daily were awarded towards institutional category. The award carries a purse of Rs 50,000 each.
