Those arrested include CEO of Nidan Hospital Bipendra Pradhan of Kathmandu, Rajesh Panta, Shankar Lal Lama, Kumud Kumar Bhattarai and Ram Chandra Ale.

Bhattarai is the legal advisor to the hospital while Ale is the section officer at the District Administration Office, Lalitpur.

Police said they were involved in trading a kidney of a patient to Shankar Lal Lama.

The Human Trafficking Bureau of Nepal Police today publicized the incident by organizing a press conference.

SP of the Bureau Govinda Thapaliya informed that they plotted a scheme to acquire permission from the Lalitpur District Administration Office to transplant the kidney of an individual to Lama.

However, instead, they transplanted another person’s kidney to Lama. Police said Ale has assisted them to make the documents.
