KATHMANDU: Nepal has condemned the recent drone attacks on Saudi Aramco oil processing facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais, Saudi Arabia seriously damaging the facilities and its operation.

In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is regrettable that commercial facilities have not been spared from such senseless act.

“Nepal deplores the use of force and violence in pursuing political objectives,” reads the statement.

The two Saudi facilities have slashed output in the world’s top producer by half surging the crude oil price.

The alleged attack by Houthi rebels in neighboring Yemen hit two sites owned by state-run giant Aramco and effectively shut down six percent of the global oil supply. The United States has blamed Iran for the attacks.
